A Trip Around the Sun with Gratitude

As I get another year older (and hopefully wiser) I have gratitude for so many things. Here are just a few 🙂

Last year shortly before my 41st birthday, I became a mother.  Though my life has changed drastically this past year, I can safely say it has been the best year of my life.  Motherhood – what a beautiful gift and the gift that keeps on giving as my little boy continues to grow and astonish me everyday.  I have to toast my awesome husband as well as he has taken to fatherhood with ease and grace while still being my better half.

Board gaming! I am grateful for board gaming!  Like Mark, I am from a large family and have great memories of board gaming with my siblings.  Time goes by though and as I got older and life got in the way, I played less board games 🙁  Well I met my husband and got into board games again and I also discovered board gaming online!!! One of the sites, boiteajeux, is where I met Mark.  The rest, of course, is history and I am grateful that my love of board games brought me to Radique.

The last thing I am grateful for is music! Like most people, I have a wide taste in music.  Everything from opera to rock.  Music has always spoken to my soul and continues to do so.  When I was a kid, we were only allowed to listen to classical music and the occasional “oldie” (40’s, 50’s & 60’s).  We had a turntable and I loved listening to the greats of music but my favourites were easily Beethoven and Chopin and Splish Splash by Bobby Darin on an “oldies” day.  As I got older, I got into country music as well as rock music.  Never been much of a fan of pop although there are some good songs.  Today, I mostly listen to rock music ( AC/DC anyone?) and, thanks to my early years, a lot of classical music.  But I will generally listen to anything as long as it has a melody and words I can sing along to!
