What we accept
High-quality used and vintage components — the kind that reward proper testing, fair pricing and a warranty-backed listing:
- Receivers, integrated amplifiers, preamps and power amps
- Floorstanding, bookshelf and bespoke speakers, including higher-end subwoofers
- Turntables, cassette decks and CD players
- Tuners, equalizers and select home-theatre processors

Minimum estimated value
- Single component: $500 CAD
- Package of components: $1,000 CAD combined
Consignment is real work on our end — testing, photography, listing, inquiries, auditions, the sale and after-sale support. Below these amounts it isn’t worthwhile for either of us; for lower-value items, a direct cash offer or a donation is usually better, and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
How consignment works
Send us your list
Email the components you’d like to sell, with a basic description of their cosmetic condition and how they work. We reply with a ballpark list price for each, based on current market demand and condition. No obligation, no paperwork yet.
Drop off, or ask about pickup
If the estimates look good, drop your gear at our Ottawa shop. Outside the immediate area? Ask about our curbside pickup — we can often collect along the Windsor–Quebec City corridor, and farther away by arrangement.
We test and evaluate
We test every component at our expense, because every buyer gets a warranty. You get the full testing report, including any adjustments to the estimated prices based on what we found.
Service if needed
If something needs work to be sale-ready, we decide what service it needs and keep you in the loop. We cover the cost up front and deduct it from the gross sale — it’s never billed to you directly. Most repairs are done in-house by our service team: faster and cheaper than outsourcing. Want to know a cost first? Just ask, and we’ll answer in writing before any billable work starts.
Listed everywhere
Once you approve the final list prices, we post your gear on our used & vintage shop, Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, Canuck Audio Mart and any other suitable platforms — every listing backed by our Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty, and every buyer covered by our Perpetual Trade-Back Program. Both are big reasons our listings sell faster than private ones.
Sold — you get paid
You receive 50% of the net sale by e-Transfer after the cooling-off period, with a confirmation of what sold, for how much, and when to expect payment.
Getting paid
Your 50% of net
- Net sales = the sale total minus any required repair costs.
- All other expenses — HST, warranty costs, advertising, finance costs, shipping and our soft labour — come out of Radique’s half.
- Where a platform’s listed price includes HST, that HST is deducted from Radique’s half too.
When it’s paid
After a brief cooling-off period following the sale, which confirms the buyer is happy and isn’t returning the item under our warranty or satisfaction policy. Once the sale is final, your e-Transfer goes out promptly to the email address on file.
Soft labour includes pre- and post-service testing, descriptions, photography, online listing, auditions, the sale and after-sale support.
Can the price change after it’s listed?
Yes, with guardrails. We ask for up to 10% pricing latitude on the final sale price, to allow for our repeat-customer and stacking-discount policies. If an item hasn’t sold within six months we may suggest reducing the list price — but we’ll always ask your permission first. The used and vintage market moves in seasons and trends, and a small adjustment at the right time can turn a stale listing into a quick sale.
What if I change my mind?
It happens, and there’s a clear path for it. If you cancel after we’ve started work:
- A bench testing fee of $95 per component applies.
- Any service already completed is billed at our standard billable retail rate — not the reduced in-house rate we use when calculating consignment proceeds, which is only offered in exchange for the future consignment sale.
- Parts and outside expenses already incurred are billed at cost.

Send us a list of the gear you’d like to sell and we reply with ballpark list prices.
