At Radique, every used and vintage audio component goes through thorough bench testing before it’s listed for sale. What we call our Bumper-to-Bumper warranty is exactly that — a comprehensive used and vintage audio warranty from the moment you take your gear home. We’ve been honouring these warranties for years, and we genuinely enjoy making things right when gear misbehaves. Read on for exactly what’s covered, for how long, and how to register.

Registration & The Basics

📧 Do I need to register my used or vintage audio purchase to be covered?

It depends on how you bought from us:

Purchased in person at our Ottawa shop, or through Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, or CanuckAudioMart? Please send a quick registration email to [email protected] with:

• Your name and contact information
• The date and platform of your purchase
• The component you purchased (make, model, brief description)

One email registers you for both your Radique Bumper-to-Bumper warranty and the Perpetual Trade-Back Program. We’ll confirm by email once you’re on file.

✅ What counts as “normal use” under the warranty?

Normal use means everyday listening — not a lightning strike, a hot-plug mishap, a coffee incident, or an encounter with gravity. If the component fails on its own under regular operation, we’ve got you covered. If it met an untimely end through misadventure, that’s a conversation, not a warranty claim.

🚚 Does the warranty cover shipping costs?

Shipping charges are not included in any Radique warranty. If you need to send a component back to us for repair or replacement, you are responsible for the return shipping cost — and we’ll cover getting it back to you after the work is done. We’re happy to help arrange discounted prepaid shipping labels through our carrier volume discounts.

The one exception: if your item arrives Dead on Arrival (DOA), we will cover the return shipping in full.

Used & Vintage Products

🔊 What does the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty cover on used and vintage audio?

Radique provides a standard 90-day Bumper-to-Bumper warranty on all used and vintage products (subwoofers and as-is items have their own rules — see below). If a product fails during normal use within that 90 days, we will repair or replace it at our discretion and at our expense. As a bonus, we’ll reset the clock with a fresh 90-day warranty on the repaired or replaced unit.

Standard 90-day warranties are not transferable to a new owner.

🔉 What is the warranty on used subwoofers?

Used subwoofers carry a 90-day limited warranty with a 50% deductible of the original purchase price. So if your sub needs repair or replacement under warranty, you’ll contribute half the purchase price toward that work.

We have this policy because subwoofers are the component most commonly over-driven — it happens fast and it happens quietly (until it really, really doesn’t). We strongly recommend letting us audition the sub for you at pickup.

🏷️ What does “as-is” mean — and is there any warranty?

As-is products carry no warranty of any kind. An as-is listing means either we haven’t been able to test the item, or we’ve tested it and it has known issues. The price reflects that. What you see is what you get — and what you get is sold exactly as described.


Extended Warranties

📋 Do you offer Extended Warranties on used and vintage gear?

Yes — for used and vintage products listed above $500 CAD (excluding subwoofers, HDMI-equipped AVRs and preamps, and as-is items), we offer Extended Warranties of 1, 2, or 3 years — extending your Bumper-to-Bumper coverage well beyond the standard 90 days.

Pricing: 15% of the listed product price per year (not the sale price)
Purchase window: Must be purchased within your original 90-day warranty period
Start date: Begins when the 90-day warranty expires
Pricing is firm: No discounts, stacking, or promotions apply

For example, on a $1,000 vintage amplifier: a 1-year Extended Warranty is $150, a 2-year is $300, and a 3-year is $450 — calculated on the listed price.

🤝 Are Extended Warranties transferable?

Yes — unlike our standard 90-day Bumper-to-Bumper warranty, Extended Warranties are transferable to a new owner. To make the transfer, email [email protected] with:

• Original owner’s name and contact details
• New owner’s name and contact details
• Component details (make, model, serial number if available)
• Date ownership changed hands

This turns your transferable coverage into a real selling feature — “Includes transferable Radique Extended Warranty” tends to catch attention on any listing. If we repair your component under an Extended Warranty, we’ll add a complimentary 90-day extension at no extra charge.

🔬 Can I buy an Extended Warranty after my 90-day warranty has expired?

Possibly — but it requires a bench inspection first. We charge a $65 bench fee for a thorough checkup. If the component gets a clean bill of health, you can purchase the Extended Warranty at standard pricing. If we find issues, you’ll need to cover repair costs before the Extended Warranty can be applied.


Radique Audio Products

🔌 What warranty applies to Radique Audio cables, adapters, and accessories?

All Radique Audio branded products — including our cables, adapters, and the RA-Twin II — carry a 1-year warranty. If anything fails within that year under normal use, we’ll replace it at no charge. The same shipping rules apply: you cover return shipping, we cover getting the replacement back to you.


New Products

📦 What warranty applies to brand new special-order products like Marantz, Denon, Polk, and Definitive Technology?

For brand new special-order products, Radique will look after your manufacturer’s warranty claim for the first 30 days after purchase. After 30 days, you’ll work directly with the manufacturer under their own warranty program. Hold onto your Radique sales invoice — manufacturers typically require it as proof of purchase.

🏪 What warranty applies to in-stock new or refurbished third-party products?

In-stock third-party items carry a 30-day Radique warranty. If something fails in that window, we’ll repair or replace it at our expense. Some items may carry a longer manufacturer’s warranty, but we may not be able to assist with manufacturer claims beyond our own 30-day coverage.


Warranty & the Trade-Back Program

🔁 How does my warranty interact with the Perpetual Trade-Back Program?

Our Perpetual Trade-Back Program lets you trade back any qualifying Radique-purchased component for store credit toward other used or vintage gear — at any time, with no expiry. Extended Warranties carry no cash value and cannot be applied toward a trade-back credit. Your trade-back value is based on your original component purchase price, not its warranty status.

However, if you hold an Extended Warranty, both the warranty coverage and your Trade-Back eligibility can be transferred to a new owner — making your gear a more attractive listing when you decide to move it on.
