Two complete amplifiers in one chassis — each channel with its own toroidal transformer and capacitor bank, 300 watts into 8 ohms and 500 into 4. Balanced XLR and single-ended inputs, switchable gain, and a rear plate that dates it to the 22nd week of 2002. Built in Peterborough, Ontario.
Rotel wound its own toroidal transformers, and the one in this chassis is generously sized for 70 watts a channel — enough that a reviewer running it at home noticed the room lights dim on switch-on. Freshly serviced on our bench and fitted with brand-new five-way binding posts.
