Ortofon Phono MC Pre-Amplifier T-10; Passive 32dB gain, 1:40
$345.00
A passive step-up transformer, not an active preamp — it takes a low-output moving coil into an MM phono input with no power supply and nothing active in the path. Toroidal transformers with permalloy shielding give 32 dB of gain at a 1:40 ratio, suited to cartridges of 2 to 4 ohms putting out around 0.1 to 0.2 mV. Bandwidth 20 Hz to 45 kHz. Good condition, tested and working.

Ortofon T-10 MC Step-Up Transformer – Good Condition, Tested and Working Well
If your amplifier only has a Moving Magnet (MM) phono input, but your turntable uses a Moving Coil (MC) cartridge, this Ortofon T-10 is what allows the two to work together. It boosts (or “steps up”) the very low signal from your MC cartridge to the correct level for your amplifier’s MM phono input—no external power source or active preamp required. Just connect your turntable to the T-10’s inputs and the T-10’s outputs to your amp’s MM input.
The Ortofon T-10 is a precision-engineered moving coil (MC) step-up transformer, not an active preamplifier. It passively increases signal strength using high-quality toroidal transformers with permalloy shielding, providing clean, transparent gain with virtually zero noise or distortion. This unit is ideal for MC cartridges with internal impedances between 2 and 4 ohms and delivers a 32dB gain (1:40 ratio), making it perfect for cartridges with outputs around 0.1–0.2mV.
It achieves wide bandwidth and excellent phase accuracy, translating the subtlest musical detail without color or compression. Its compact, well-shielded metal casing ensures quiet operation and long-term reliability.

Good Quality Phono Solutions Phono Pre-amplifier PS1
Forty decibels of gain with RIAA accuracy held to ±0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, from a board carrying twenty extra components and 1% tolerance resistors over the standard design. A 7 Hz subsonic filter, gold-plated RCA jacks, 80 dBA signal-to-noise, and an external AC/DC adapter that keeps the supply away from the signal. Five inches wide, in matte black steel.
Jadis Defy DP-60 Tube Preamplifier — MM/MC Phono, Outboard PSU
A full-function valve preamplifier — line stage and a moving-magnet/moving-coil phono section, valves throughout, with the power supply in its own separate chassis. Hand-built in the south of France, in excellent condition, and it comes with the original factory cartons including the shaped foam box for the supply.
Yamaha RX-V561 5.1 AVR 500W — 2x HDMI, 3 Digital In, Remote
100 watts minimum RMS on every one of the five channels into 8 ohms, and dynamic power that climbs to 110, 130, 160 and 180 watts into 8, 6, 4 and 2 ohms — a receiver that keeps increasing output as the load gets harder has a supply with something in reserve. Where it earns its keep is bass management: a crossover selectable across nine points from 40 Hz to 200 Hz with a 12 dB per octave high-pass on front, centre and surround. Two HDMI inputs, three digital, remote included. Very good condition.
Braun Atelier A1 Slim Integrated Amp — 55 WPC, Pre-Out, Japan
The component that makes the rest of an Atelier system work, and the one people hunting these usually look for first. 55 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 80 into 4, with a preamplifier section that separates from the power stage — engineering that is not an afterthought to the industrial design. 445 mm wide and 70 mm tall, the exact footprint of the T1 tuner and C1 deck, so the stack reads as one machined object. Made in Japan for Braun. Good condition.
NAD C 272 Stereo Power Amplifier 150 WPC, 300 Watts Bridged
Start with the number that is not on the front: 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 150 into 4. Most amplifiers quote a comfortable 8 ohm figure and hope you never connect anything harder; this one holds its full rating into half the impedance, from a high-current Holmgren toroidal feeding all-discrete circuitry with NAD's PowerDrive topology behind it. A BRIDGE MODE switch on the back turns it into a single mono channel of roughly 300 watts into 8 ohms, so the system can be rearranged later rather than replaced. Very Good condition.
Sony TAE-20FB Falcon Preamplifier — Bronze, MM/MC Phono, Japan
The control amplifier from Sony's short-lived Falcon range — made in Japan for barely two years and rarely seen on this side of the Pacific. Bronze-anodised aluminium case, a real moving-coil phono input alongside moving-magnet, and a signal path that has been freshly recapped. A couple of light marks on the casework, otherwise Very Good. Ships from Kanata, ON.
Pyle PP999 Phono Preamp — Turntable to Line Level, New in Box
Puts a turntable back into a system that has no phono input. Turntable in, receiver out, on ordinary RCA cables — the signal arrives at line level ready for any AUX or CD socket on a modern amplifier.
Rear ground terminal for the turntable's ground wire, and the 12 volt power adapter is included. Metal alloy housing, 70 dB signal-to-noise, 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB. New and unopened in retail packaging.
