A plug-and-play replacement for the 1″ tweeter in PSB Image Series speakers. We’ve installed many dozens of them, in Image 1B, 2B, 4T, 5T, 8C and 10S speakers among others, and they also fit the Image T55 and C60.
A quick fix for a dead or “dim” tweeter
If a tweeter in one or more of your PSB Image speakers has failed completely or gone “dim”, this is a quick, simple fix: undo the screws, disconnect the two wires, connect the Peerless and screw it in. On some models it sits perfectly flush; on others, such as the Image 5T, it doesn’t sit quite flush all the way around, but it isn’t very noticeable.
The Peerless is also significantly more robust than the PSB tweeter it replaces.
How it sounds
The Peerless is more efficient than the stock PSB tweeter, so with no other changes your speakers will sound slightly brighter and more forward. That’s how we’ve installed them every time, and we like the balance it brings to the Image line’s full bass. Prefer a more laid-back sound? A 1.5–2 ohm resistor in series on the positive lead will tone it down.
