Our smallest PSB Center channel, with drivers personally designed by Paul Barton, has received lots of great reviews. It’s still not often that you find an aluminum dome tweeter at this price, and here it’s mated with two 3 1/2″ poly-coned woofer/midrange(s), and excellent quality PSB 5-Way bindings, and magnetic shielding for near-video placement, all wrapped up in an attractive black ash wood-grained finish.
The enclosure is MDF, with injection moulded front and back panels and a stylish perforated aluminum grille.
Andrew Marshall, reviewer for Audio Ideas Guide, wrote: “The bottom line is that the PSB Alpha Intro’s pretty much kill the competition in their price range and above. Both the LR and CLR could be the cornerstones (literally) of a really good home theatre system, the latter offering greater dynamics all around, while both, in 5s, provide near perfect timbral matching. They’re both handsome, able to hide in shelves or hang on walls, and, finally, they are that audiophile oxymoron, compact home theatre speakers that deliver true high fidelity sound quality.”

Yamaha NS-C90 Center Speaker – Dual-Angle Tilt, Made in Japan
The cabinet is asymmetrical on purpose: flip it over and it tilts the other way, aiming up at you from a low shelf or down at you from the top of a cabinet. Sealed rather than ported, so it needs no rear clearance. Two full-range drivers, nothing crossing in the vocal band. 6 ohms, 50 watts nominal. Built in Japan; very good condition.
