Ultralink BitStream BTS-300 Portable USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier — 300 mW, 24-bit / 192 kHz, Aluminium Housing, New in Package
A pocket-sized digital-to-analogue converter with an integrated headphone amplifier, made to sit between a laptop, desktop or phone and a pair of headphones that the source cannot properly drive on its own.
The problem it solves is a specific one. A computer’s onboard sound card sits inside a metal box full of electrical noise, sharing a circuit board with the very components that generate it, and its headphone output is designed for earbuds rather than anything demanding. Higher-impedance headphones connected to it play quietly, thinly, and without the low-end authority they are capable of. The BitStream takes the digital signal out over USB before any of that happens, converts it in its own housing, and adds 300 mW of amplification behind it.
It handles 16 to 24-bit audio from 44.1 kHz through 192 kHz, so it plays everything from an MP3 to a high-resolution file without resampling, and the aluminium housing keeps it both shielded and pocketable. Plug-and-play over USB with no drivers on Mac, PC and most Android devices, with both required cables in the box.
The natural pairing is a set of headphones that has always felt slightly underpowered — a 250 ohm studio pair, or anything that sounds cautious out of a laptop. It is also the cheapest meaningful upgrade available to a desk-based listening setup, because it improves every source that passes through it rather than one recording at a time.
These are new and unopened, in retail packaging, with full manufacturer warranty.

Bryston 4B SST Power Amplifier — 300 WPC, Dual Mono, XLR, Canada
Jadis Defy DP-60 Tube Preamplifier — MM/MC Phono, Outboard PSU
A full-function valve preamplifier — line stage and a moving-magnet/moving-coil phono section, valves throughout, with the power supply in its own separate chassis. Hand-built in the south of France, in excellent condition, and it comes with the original factory cartons including the shaped foam box for the supply.
Yamaha RX-V561 5.1 AVR 500W — 2x HDMI, 3 Digital In, Remote
100 watts minimum RMS on every one of the five channels into 8 ohms, and dynamic power that climbs to 110, 130, 160 and 180 watts into 8, 6, 4 and 2 ohms — a receiver that keeps increasing output as the load gets harder has a supply with something in reserve. Where it earns its keep is bass management: a crossover selectable across nine points from 40 Hz to 200 Hz with a 12 dB per octave high-pass on front, centre and surround. Two HDMI inputs, three digital, remote included. Very good condition.
Braun Atelier A1 Slim Integrated Amp — 55 WPC, Pre-Out, Japan
The component that makes the rest of an Atelier system work, and the one people hunting these usually look for first. 55 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 80 into 4, with a preamplifier section that separates from the power stage — engineering that is not an afterthought to the industrial design. 445 mm wide and 70 mm tall, the exact footprint of the T1 tuner and C1 deck, so the stack reads as one machined object. Made in Japan for Braun. Good condition.
NAD C 272 Stereo Power Amplifier 150 WPC, 300 Watts Bridged
Start with the number that is not on the front: 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 150 into 4. Most amplifiers quote a comfortable 8 ohm figure and hope you never connect anything harder; this one holds its full rating into half the impedance, from a high-current Holmgren toroidal feeding all-discrete circuitry with NAD's PowerDrive topology behind it. A BRIDGE MODE switch on the back turns it into a single mono channel of roughly 300 watts into 8 ohms, so the system can be rearranged later rather than replaced. Very Good condition.
Sony TAE-20FB Falcon Preamplifier — Bronze, MM/MC Phono, Japan
The control amplifier from Sony's short-lived Falcon range — made in Japan for barely two years and rarely seen on this side of the Pacific. Bronze-anodised aluminium case, a real moving-coil phono input alongside moving-magnet, and a signal path that has been freshly recapped. A couple of light marks on the casework, otherwise Very Good. Ships from Kanata, ON.
