The Revolution R1 is a 2‑way bass-reflex bookshelf design using a 5 inch woofer and soft-dome tweeter in a rigid real‑wood cherry veneer enclosure, giving a more premium look and feel than the vinyl‑clad Mercury range while preserving Tannoy’s inviting, musical balance. Sensitivity is an easy-to-drive 87 dB at 8 ohms with a recommended amplifier range of 10–70 watts, so they pair well with a wide variety of vintage and modern integrated amps and receivers. The compact cabinets image very well and disappear nicely in the room, making them great as main speakers in a smaller space or as a classy upgrade for desktop or nearfield listening.
