The short answer

IsoAcoustics ISO-200 is a pair of isolation stands for large speakers and studio monitors. Each stand’s top is 7.8 × 10 in (200 × 255 mm). Set it short, at 3.75 in (95 mm), or tall, at 8.5 in (215 mm), and tilt it up to 6.5°: fourteen height and tilt combinations in all. IsoAcoustics rates it to 75 lb (34 kg) in the short setting and 60 lb (27 kg) in the tall one.

What ISO-200 does

Height and tilt, your way

Long and short tubes set the height; inserts in the front tubes tilt the speaker up, and in the rear tubes, down. Fourteen height and tilt combinations in all, up to 6.5°.

Isolated from the desk

A desk or console resonates with the speaker on it. The stands’ isolators decouple the speaker, which IsoAcoustics says gives clearer sound, better imaging and tighter bass.

Which ISO stand fits your speakers?

Start with the base: the speaker should sit securely on the top plate. Then check the weight. Our rule of thumb: 3 to 4 inch monitors on ISO-130, 5 to 7 inch on ISO-155, 8 inch on ISO-200.

Is the rating per stand or per pair?

IsoAcoustics describes the ISO-200 as rated for “monitors weighing up to 60 lb”, which reads as per speaker, in the tall setting; short, it’s rated to 75 lb (34 kg). For floor-standing speakers, look at GAIA instead.

Short or tall setting?

Tall lifts the speaker so its tweeter sits nearer ear height at a desk; short keeps it low, on a shelf or under a screen. Then use the tilt to aim it at your listening position.

Is it one stand or two?

Two: ISO stands are sold as a pair.

What warranty does it have?

Brand new in IsoAcoustics’ retail box, with IsoAcoustics’ 2-year manufacturer’s warranty in Canada against defects in materials and workmanship. If anything is wrong, contact us and we’ll handle it with IsoAcoustics. More in our warranty FAQ.

Under floor-standing speakers

GAIA isolators screw in place of your spikes, one set of four per speaker: GAIA III to 70 lb, GAIA II to 120 lb, GAIA I to 220 lb and the GAIA-TITAN Theis to 320 lb. Subwoofers sit on the Aperta Sub.

Under bookshelf speakers and monitors
