The Stratus Silvers used to be the 2nd best speakers in PSB’s lineup (after the Stratus Golds). However, compared to the Stratus Golds which were very power hungry and required a high current amp to sound their best, the Silvers are quite efficient and sound great with a wide variety of amplifiers from quality receivers to high end amps.

Another advantage the Silvers have over their bigger brother is that they are not nearly as sensitive to placement. Put the Golds too close to the back wall & they’re almost certainly sound boomy whereas the Silvers are significantly more versatile, placement-wise. For these reasons, many audiophiles actually prefer the Silvers over the Golds.
