Designed and built in England (circa 1995), the Alpha 6 Plus represents Arcam’s commitment to uncompromising audio quality with minimal complexity. Rated at 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, this amplifier employs VMOSFET output devices and a robust toroidal transformer to deliver surprisingly dynamic sound with effortless control and a relaxed, detailed soundstage. The Alpha 6 Plus is renowned for its musicality—engaging listeners with natural tonality, exceptional midrange clarity, and smooth high-frequency extension.

The amplifier offers five inputs including a high-quality moving magnet phono stage for turntables, making it ideal for vinyl enthusiasts. Four additional line-level inputs accommodate CD players, tuners, tape decks, and modern streaming sources. Subtle bass and treble tone controls (±3dB at 100Hz and 10kHz) allow modest room corrections, while the Direct switch bypasses the tone circuit entirely for purist listening. Speaker outputs accommodate two pairs of loudspeakers with front-panel selection.
