zaZen II: for heavier turntables

The higher-capacity zaZen: the same 17 by 15 inch platform with built-in isolators, rated for up to 40 lb.

Which size What it does Specs Why Radique FAQ

The short answer

IsoAcoustics zaZen II is an isolation platform for turntables, tube amplifiers and other sensitive components up to 40 lb (18.1 kg). It measures 17 × 15 in and stands 1.4 in tall (432 × 381 × 34 mm), with dense fibre construction (no voids), a medium-gloss black finish and isolators built into its base. It’s the same size as zaZen I, rated for heavier gear.

zaZen I and zaZen II

Both zaZens are the same 17 × 15 in size. The difference is the load: choose by the weight of what goes on top, and if it’s close to 25 lb, take zaZen II.

Model	Rated load	Size (W × D × H)
zaZen I	25 lb (11.3 kg)	17 × 15 × 1.2 in (432 × 381 × 30 mm)
zaZen II (this one)	40 lb (18.1 kg)	17 × 15 × 1.4 in (432 × 381 × 34 mm)

What zaZen II does

Mass plus isolation

A dense, void-free fibre core adds stable mass, and the isolators underneath decouple it from the shelf. IsoAcoustics says the combination lowers the noise floor and reveals more clarity and detail.

Made for turntables

Turntables are the classic case: the stylus reads tiny movements, so vibration from the shelf matters. zaZen suits tube amplifiers and other sensitive components too.

Award-winning

zaZen II won Positive Feedback’s 2021 Writers’ Choice award, and the zaZen line holds The Absolute Sound’s 2022 Product of the Year.

Questions we get about this one

zaZen I or zaZen II?

Both are 17 × 15 in. zaZen I carries up to 25 lb (11.3 kg) and is 1.2 in (30 mm) tall; zaZen II carries up to 40 lb (18.1 kg) and is 1.4 in (34 mm) tall. Choose by the weight of what goes on top.

Will your turntable fit?

Measure where its feet sit: they should land on the platform with a little room to spare. The top is 17 in wide and 15 in deep (432 × 381 mm). Check the turntable’s weight on its spec sheet too.

Under floor-standing speakers

GAIA isolators screw in place of your spikes, one set of four per speaker: GAIA III to 70 lb, GAIA II to 120 lb, GAIA I to 220 lb and the GAIA-TITAN Theis to 320 lb. Subwoofers sit on the Aperta Sub.

Under bookshelf speakers and monitors

The ISO-130, ISO-155 and ISO-200 stands lift, tilt and isolate desktop and shelf speakers; Aperta stands and ISO-PUCKs do the same job in other shapes.

Under turntables and electronics

OREA feet, sold singly and used three or four at a time, go under amplifiers, DACs and players. The zaZen I and zaZen II platforms give a turntable a quieter base.
