Vintage Japanese Pioneer PL-112D Belt-Drive Turntable – Classic Hi-Fi Excellence
This beautiful Japanese-made Pioneer PL-112D turntable represents the golden age of vinyl playback with its elegant design and exceptional audio performance. Pioneer’s engineering excellence is on full display with this classic belt-drive manual turntable that continues to impress audiophiles decades after its introduction.
The PL-112D delivers warm, detailed sound reproduction with minimal noise thanks to its precision-engineered belt drive system that effectively isolates motor vibrations from the platter. The high-quality 4-pole synchronous motor ensures stable, accurate speed while the durable polyurethane belt resists aging and temperature fluctuations for long-term reliability.
Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the thoughtful design elements including the lightweight, high-rigidity aluminum headshell that provides excellent cartridge mounting stability. The static balance S-shaped tonearm delivers precise tracking with adjustable anti-skating for optimal stylus positioning in record grooves. The oil-damped cueing mechanism provides smooth, gentle lowering of the stylus to protect your valuable vinyl collection.
Constructed during Pioneer’s golden era of turntable manufacturing (1976-1978), this model combines robust Japanese build quality with elegant styling that complements any audio system. The die-cast aluminum platter and quality tonearm bearings deliver performance that rivals many more expensive modern turntables.
It has been equipped with a Shure M75 series cartridge paired with a Shure N75-6 stylus with its distinctive yellow stylus grip. It is a spherical stylus designed for tracking forces between 1.5g to 3g. This cartridge and stylus combination is widely recognized for its warm, smooth sound and compatibility with various turntables, making it a popular choice among vinyl enthusiasts.
