A solid, heavyweight pair of Athena Technologies 31.5-inch all-metal speaker stands in very good condition — originally engineered as the dedicated partner for the award-winning Athena S.5 satellite/bookshelf speakers, and equally well-suited to other small bookshelf or satellite designs.

Athena Technologies was the high-value performance brand of Audio Products International of Toronto — the same Canadian engineering house behind Mirage and Energy, later acquired by the Klipsch Group. These stands reflect the same engineering-led approach the company brought to its loudspeakers: a tall, stable column on a wide weighted base, with thoughtful details that elevate them well above generic third-party stands at this price point.

Each stand is built entirely from steel, with a substantial weighted base measuring 12.75 x 8 inches and a 5 x 3.25 inch top plate sized perfectly for compact satellite and small bookshelf monitors. The 31.5-inch height places a typical satellite tweeter at the ideal seated ear-level for accurate imaging. The hollow centre column doubles as a concealed cable management channel, keeping speaker wire hidden from view for a clean, finished appearance. At a hefty 10 lbs per stand, they offer genuine real-world stability — the heavy base resists tipping and accidental knocks far better than the lightweight stands typically bundled with sub/sat systems.

A stand-out practical feature for owners of the matched system: each stand includes the original Athena mounting screws that thread directly into the inserts at the rear of the Athena S.5 satellites, providing a secure, drilling-free attachment. These screws are sized specifically for the S.5 and are not intended for use with other speakers; for non-Athena bookshelf or satellite speakers, the top plate works equally well with speaker-stand pads or adhesive putty. The stands are currently fitted with Radique Audio High Density Felt Feet — our own in-house upgrade — ideal for hardwood, tile, laminate, or other hard-floor surfaces where they will not mark or scratch the finish.
