Twenty watts a channel into 8 ohms across the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz band, an MM phono input at 80 dB signal-to-noise, and a tape monitor loop. Sherwood built these in small runs in Chicago and sold them through the same shops that carried Marantz and McIntosh. Still in its original wood cabinet. Level 1 serviced here; condition Very Good.
Sherwood S-8250 CP AM/FM Stereo Receiver 25 WPC
Twenty-five watts a channel into 8 ohms from Sherwood's Certified Performance series — the range where Sherwood printed the measured figures for the individual unit rather than for the model. MM phono, noise filter, mute/mono, loudness and A/B speakers, behind a brushed aluminium face with walnut-grain side panels. Level 2 serviced here: bias and DC offset set, every control deoxidised.
Sherwood S-2620 CP AM/FM Stereo Receiver – Compact 1980s Design
Twenty watts a channel into 8 ohms at 0.05% distortion, with 95 dB signal-to-noise on the line inputs and 80 dB on MM phono at 2.5 mV. Tape monitor loop and A/B speaker switching, in a matte black chassis 3.7 inches tall and 17.3 wide. Made in Korea, 1983–86. Tested throughout; very good cosmetic condition.
