Gorgeous Vintage 25 WPC Technics Receiver with a very good Phono stage.
The SA-200 has the typical look of the late 1970’s Technics equipment. It has this vintage’s characteristic black ring around around its volume and tuning knobs, and all the knobs have a beveled top edge which gives them an appealing gleam in the light.
In terms of performance the SA-200 does not disappoint. It produces 25 watts per channel with a very admirable 0.04% total harmonic distortion. You’ll be hard pressed to find such a good looking vintage receiver in this range with THD that low. It also has a direct coupled power amp design, 3 stage direct coupled phono equalizer, MOSFET FM front end with a 3 gang tuning capacitor, phase locked loop FM stereo decoding chip and 41 step click stop volume control.
There are connections for Main and Remote speakers on the back panel, a tape loop as well as Aux input jack if you want to hook up your phone or MP3 player. The SA-200 also boasts externally accessible speaker fuses, rotary Bass Treble and Balance controls, FM Muting, Loudness, and 1/4″ Headphone output. Remove the two screws holding the two metal brackets at the top corners of the rear panel and the top will slide out revealing a very easy to service interior.

Thirty-five watts a channel at 0.01% distortion with a damping factor of 70 — numbers most larger receivers of 1978 could not reach. A five-band S.E.A. graphic equalizer sits on the front panel at 40, 250, 1k, 5k and 15kHz, alongside MM phono, two tape loops and push-button speaker terminals. Made in Japan, arrived professionally serviced; cosmetically graded Excellent.
Pioneer SX-50 Silver Face Receiver – 50 WPC, Pre-Outs, 1983
Fifty watts a channel into 8 ohms at 0.007% distortion, and — unusually for a receiver this size — pre-out and main-in jacks on the back, so it can feed a subwoofer, take an equalizer in the loop, or hand off to a larger power amp. Introduced in 1983 with switchable CD and TV audio inputs, presets held by three AA cells, and the silver face of the decade that was ending. Graded Very Good.

Sixty watts a channel into 8 ohms across the full band at 0.01% distortion, with an MM phono input at 2.5mV, a tape monitor loop, and separate bass, treble and balance. The original Kenwood remote is here, which is uncommon on a receiver of this age. Level 1 serviced; cosmetically graded Good, with honest wear for its years.
