SVS built the Ultra Center as the centrepiece of their flagship Ultra Series, and it shows in every detail. A 4-inch composite glass-fiber midrange driver handles the critical dialogue frequency range in isolation — a dedicated midrange driver is a rarity in center channel design at any price, and here it pays dividends in the intelligibility, presence, and naturalness of every voice and on-screen sound effect. Dual 6.5-inch composite glass-fiber woofers flank the midrange on either side, delivering deep, impactful bass extension down to 45 Hz — far deeper than most center channels reach. A 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter handles the top octaves with precision and detail.
The bass-reflex cabinet features dual rear-firing ports, tuned to work in concert with the woofer array for smooth, well-defined low-frequency output without the port noise or chuffing that can compromise lesser designs at high output levels. Dual pairs of gold-plated 5-way binding posts allow for bi-amplification or bi-wiring for those who wish to maximise system performance. The elastomer isolation kit (included in the original box) decouples the cabinet from whatever surface it rests on, further cleaning up the presentation.

Yamaha NS-C90 Center Speaker – Dual-Angle Tilt, Made in Japan
The cabinet is asymmetrical on purpose: flip it over and it tilts the other way, aiming up at you from a low shelf or down at you from the top of a cabinet. Sealed rather than ported, so it needs no rear clearance. Two full-range drivers, nothing crossing in the vocal band. 6 ohms, 50 watts nominal. Built in Japan; very good condition.

A Canadian-built Reference monitor in a high gloss black we have not had this model in before — the line of this era usually turns up in black, light cherry or dark rosenut. Sealed MTM design with Paradigm's pure-aluminium dome tweeter, and it works as a centre or as a left or right. Excellent, with its original box.
