Yamaha RX-V795A 5.1 AV Receiver – 425W Peak, Phono
The Yamaha RX-V795A is a late-1990s 5.1-channel Dolby Digital / DTS AV receiver rated at 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms across all five channels, offering plenty of clean power for mid-size home theater setups. This unit is in very good condition and has undergone our Level One service and testing which should ensure many more years of reliable performance ahead.
Yamaha’s RX-V795A provides Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic decoding, along with Yamaha’s Cinema DSP modes, giving multiple surround presets for movies, TV, and music. Power output is specified at 85 W per channel (front left/right, center, and surrounds) into 8 ohms with low 0.04% total harmonic distortion, and it includes a phono input for turntables, multiple analog and digital inputs (three optical, one coax), and 5.1-channel pre-outs for future external amplification upgrades.
On the video side, the RX-V795A offers composite and S-Video connectivity for DVD, VCR, and other legacy sources, plus on-screen display for setup and configuration. Speaker flexibility includes A/B front speaker selection, support for 6-ohm loads via the impedance selector, and a dedicated subwoofer pre-out, making it straightforward to integrate with both modern powered subs and classic passive setups.
This receiver includes a brand new Yamaha-compatible remote (non-original) that has been tested and confirmed to operate most primary functions such as volume, input selection, surround mode changes, and basic transport controls for connected components. The front-panel display and controls remain fully functional for more advanced or occasional adjustments.
