Highly Efficient Energy Center Channel Speaker AC-300

Perhaps the most important speaker in a multi-channel surround system is the center channel. Enter the AC-300 from Energy. The AC-300 houses one 1 inch, magnetically shielded aluminum dome tweeter with cloth suspension and two 5 1/2 inch, shielded so called I.M. carbon/mica polypropylene woofers with compression molded N.B.R. surrounds. The AC-300 is a very good center channel for the money. It puts forth a very intelligible dialog never sounding distorted or overly bright.

With an original MSRP of $450, this center channel more than lived up to its original price point. Some people actually preferring it to the more expensive Veritas Center of the same time-frame. This unit still sounds fantastic, and looks good too (8.5/10). It features a high gloss piano black finish, full wrap-around sock (still in good condition), and dual 5-Way bindings suitable for bi-wiring.

The AC-300 is rated to handle 175 Watts at 6 Ohms impedance. Frequency Response: 40 – 22000 Hz, Sensitivity: 93 (dB/W/m).
