Sony STR-6055 Vintage Stereo Receiver – 40 WPC, Serviced

Sony STR-6055 Stereo Receiver – Freshly Serviced, Refinished Cabinet, Classic Vintage Appeal

This Sony STR-6055 is a true gem from the early 1970s: a freshly serviced classic stereo receiver, featuring an original real wood cabinet that’s been beautifully refinished to highlight its timeless design. The result is an audio centerpiece that looks as good as it sounds, with rich wood tones and clean lines—an essential addition for fans of classic hi-fi style.

All of the receiver’s functions (apart from AM radio) have been thoroughly tested and are performing flawlessly. The FM tuner, phono input, and auxiliary sources deliver that lush, musical Sony sound—backed by 40 watts per channel of clean, robust power into 8 ohms. The STR-6055’s tactile metal knobs, analog meters, and solid switches make every listening session a satisfying physical experience.

Please note: As is common with vintage receivers of this era, some of the original lettering on the faceplate has worn or faded over time, and there are even a few spots where the labels are absent. This has no impact on performance, and the receiver still presents beautifully, especially with its stunning cabinet and upgraded lamps.
