Denon AVR-1800 5.1 AV Receiver 75 WPC — Made in Japan, Original Remote
A Made-in-Japan Denon AV surround receiver from the golden era of the brand’s home theater lineup, offering exceptional build quality, genuine Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, and the flexibility of full pre-amplifier outputs on every channel.
The AVR-1800 represents Denon at its most earnest — built in Japan at a time when the brand still brought its full audiophile sensibility to the home theater category. Delivering 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms across all five channels (stereo mode, 20 Hz–20 kHz at 0.05% THD), it drives speakers with authority and precision. Dynamic headroom extends to 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 145 watts into 4 ohms, giving it a muscular reserve that makes itself known on film soundtracks and demanding music passages alike.
Full pre-amplifier outputs on the front, center, surround, and subwoofer channels make the AVR-1800 an excellent platform for building or expanding a high-performance home theater — whether by bi-amping the front channels or adding a dedicated external amplifier. A MM phono stage is included, allowing a turntable to be integrated directly into the system. The built-in AM/FM tuner features excellent FM sensitivity of 1.0 nV (11.2 dBf), one of the strongest figures in its class. Tape monitor loops provide a convenient loop for adding outboard signal processing or an equalizer. A 5-channel stereo mode — universally praised by owners — envelops the room with music in a way that few receivers of this era could match.
This unit is in good condition and comes with the original Denon remote control. It has been thoroughly inspected and tested to confirm full functionality.
