Vision Acoustics V500 Bookshelf Speakers, Pair – Made in Canada

A pair of solidly built, Canadian-made Vision Acoustics V 500 bookshelf speakers in black ash, rated at a sensitive 92 dB, fully tested on our bench and in very good condition.

What it is

The V 500 is a two-way bookshelf speaker in a single-vent bass-reflex cabinet, built in Canada and badged “Digital Speaker System” on the plate behind its grille.

Its standout figure is efficiency. At 92 dB, the V 500 plays loud on very little power, so it is a natural partner for a modest vintage receiver or a low-powered amplifier. Vision recommends 10 to 60 watts RMS per channel, with an operating range of 10 to 100 watts, and the 6-ohm load suits most amplifiers and receivers. A built-in overload protection circuit helps guard the drivers if the volume is pushed too far.

Frequency response is rated at 40 Hz to 22 kHz, with the crossover between the woofer and tweeter set at 2,000 Hz.

Build quality is good and solid, at 13.4 lbs per speaker in a compact cabinet, finished in black ash, and the black cloth grilles are included. Around the back, red and black 5-way binding posts take bare wire, spades, pins or banana plugs; we recommend our own Radique Audio gold-plated banana plugs, and our Custom Speaker Cable Builder will make a pair to length, ready to plug in.
