Blaupunkt Micronic A-60 Micro Amplifier – 20 WPC, Made in Japan

A Blaupunkt Micronic A-60 integrated amplifier from 1981, designed by Blaupunkt in Germany and made in Japan to Blaupunkt’s specifications: a full stereo amplifier in a case barely 25 cm wide. It has been tested on our bench and is in very good condition.

What it is

The Micronic 60 components were Blaupunkt’s answer to the micro hi-fi craze of the early 1980s, full-function separates shrunk to about a third of the usual width, and they are hard to find today. We love these. The A-60 is the amplifier: 20 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with rotary bass, treble, balance and click-stop volume controls, a loudness switch, a headphone jack, and a row of LED power meters across the top of the faceplate that read out each channel’s output in watts.

What makes it unusual is the back panel. It has a single pair of RCA inputs, as you would expect on a power amplifier, but with its own volume and tone controls it works as a complete integrated amplifier for one source. Connect a CD player, a streamer, or our RA-Twin II Bluetooth adapter and it plays from your phone, tablet or laptop; add the matching T-60 tuner/preamplifier and you have the full Micronic system with radio, phono, tape and aux.

The speaker terminals are spring clips, which take bare wire or pin connectors, and the A-60 is happy with speakers from 4 to 16 ohms. Our own Radique Audio pin connectors are the natural match for a neat, secure fit, and our Custom Speaker Cable Builder will make you a pair to the exact length, terminated and ready to connect. A voltage selector on the back is set for 120 volts.
