High Quality Celestion Speakers w/ Integrated Stands MP1

The MP1 (listed new for $299 USD per pair) comes from Celestion’s SoundStyle line. It is a compact (11 1/2 x 6 x 8 3/4 inches), weather-resistant, magnetically shielded speaker incorporating a 1-inch, fluid-cooled, polymer-dome tweeter and a 4 1/2-inch woofer operating in a vented enclosure. Sensitivity is given as 90 dB sound-pressure level at 1 meter with a 1-watt input, impedance as 8 ohms.

The MP1 also incorporates Celestion’s PolySwitch system to protect the drivers from overloads.

What’s most distinctive about the MP1’s appearance is its modernistic cake-slice shape, which incorporates an adjustable stand. The shape of the molded polypropylene enclosure, provided in “video” (Celestion’s Dark Gray) finish, is said to reduce internal resonances and standing waves. The stand will, of course, support the speaker on a shelf or tabletop but it is also continuously adjustable to hold the approximately 6-pound speaker at an angle when it is mounted on a wall or ceiling.

Connections for the MP1’s are gold plated multi way binding posts, and build quality throughout these Celestion speakers, from the drivers to the cabinets, to the integrated stands / mounts is excellent, as would be expected from Celestion.
