Designed and built in Canada by PSB Speakers, the Image 8C is a large, serious centre channel that refuses to be the weak link in a home theatre system — a speaker sized and engineered to match PSB’s full Image series towers in output capability and sonic character.
The 8C deploys a dual 5.25-inch woofer array flanking a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter in a wide, low-profile front-ported cabinet — a configuration that delivers the horizontal driver spacing needed for seamless left-to-right dialogue and effects panning across a wide screen, while the front-firing port allows flexible placement against walls or in enclosed cabinetry. Magnetic shielding (video shielding) ensures safe placement near CRT and LCD screens alike. PSB’s Paul Barton voiced the Image series with his characteristic commitment to NRC (National Research Council) anechoic chamber measurement, which means what you hear is accurate, uncoloured, and fatigue-free over long viewing sessions — a quality that dialogue reproduction in particular rewards. Sound & Vision noted that the 8C “plays very loud and quite deep” for a centre channel at this price, with genuinely full-range capability that reduces the load on a subwoofer.
Gold-plated five-way binding posts support banana plugs, bare wire, and spade connections, and the 6-ohm nominal impedance (4-ohm minimum) and 240-watt peak power handling mean this speaker will work with virtually any AV receiver or processor without strain. At 23 lbs it is a substantial, solidly built cabinet.
This unit is in very good condition with the exception of minor mounting holes on the underside of the cabinet — not visible when placed on a shelf, rack, or stand, and with no effect whatsoever on performance.

Yamaha NS-C90 Center Speaker – Dual-Angle Tilt, Made in Japan
The cabinet is asymmetrical on purpose: flip it over and it tilts the other way, aiming up at you from a low shelf or down at you from the top of a cabinet. Sealed rather than ported, so it needs no rear clearance. Two full-range drivers, nothing crossing in the vocal band. 6 ohms, 50 watts nominal. Built in Japan; very good condition.
Paradigm Reference LCR-450 — Made in Canada, High Gloss Black
A Canadian-built Reference monitor in a high gloss black we have not had this model in before — the line of this era usually turns up in black, light cherry or dark rosenut. Sealed MTM design with Paradigm's pure-aluminium dome tweeter, and it works as a centre or as a left or right. Excellent, with its original box.

Five-way binding posts, black finish, 16.75 inches wide and 19 lbs. Very good cosmetic condition.
