The HW-T550 and its matching PS-WR55D wireless subwoofer were sold together as a complete system, and this listing includes both original components along with the original remote control. The soundbar houses four drivers — two 1.5-inch dome tweeters and two 3.25 x 1.5-inch midrange cone drivers — powered by a 160-watt amplifier, while the wireless subwoofer adds a front-firing 6.5-inch woofer in a rear-ported bass-reflex enclosure driven by its own 160-watt built-in amplifier, for a combined system total of 320 watts. The subwoofer connects wirelessly via 2.4GHz to the soundbar with no audio cables required — only an AC power cord for the sub itself — allowing flexible placement wherever bass sounds best in your room.
DTS Virtual:X processing creates a convincing sense of 3D height and width from standard stereo and surround content without the need for upward-firing or in-ceiling speakers, making the T550 a practical and affordable step into immersive sound for everyday TV viewing and streaming. A tall, narrow bass column meant to stand beside a cabinet rather than in front of it — 8.25 inches across the front and unusually deep at 17, which is the trade: the depth buys back the internal volume the narrow baffle gives away, so a 6.5 inch woofer is properly loaded in a strip of floor barely wider than a hardcover book. Driven by an integrated 100 watt amplifier, with speaker-level inputs and high-pass outputs so it works with an amplifier that has no subwoofer output at all. Good condition.
