This SCR has been customized with 5-Way bindings compatible with banana plugs to replace the stock speaker outputs, and has been extensively serviced including:
Full recap of the Eq board, speaker relay board, power supply and power amp boards, and partial recap of the known troublesome caps on the Tuner.
Full removal and disassembly of the relays to clean.
Replacement (including LED mods) to retrofit dial lights and mode indicators
Custom fabrication of a whole new terminal strip for the speaker binding posts.
Original wooden cabinet has also been touched up, but did not require full refinishing.

Sherwood built these in small runs in Chicago and sold them through the same shops that carried Marantz and McIntosh. Still in its original wood cabinet. Level 1 serviced here; condition Very Good.

Twenty-five watts a channel into 8 ohms from Sherwood's Certified Performance series — the range where Sherwood printed the measured figures for the individual unit rather than for the model. MM phono, noise filter, mute/mono, loudness and A/B speakers, behind a brushed aluminium face with walnut-grain side panels. Level 2 serviced here: bias and DC offset set, every control deoxidised.
JVC JR-S201 Receiver – 35 WPC, Japan, SEA EQ, Excellent
Thirty-five watts a channel at 0.01% distortion with a damping factor of 70 — numbers most larger receivers of 1978 could not reach. A five-band S.E.A. graphic equalizer sits on the front panel at 40, 250, 1k, 5k and 15kHz, alongside MM phono, two tape loops and push-button speaker terminals. Made in Japan, arrived professionally serviced; cosmetically graded Excellent.
