Sanded to an ultra-smooth 320 grit for a flawless surface

Radique’s note: This particular Marantz 2250 features a rear panel originally labeled for the 2275 model. This is a rare occurrence, likely due to Marantz’s occasional practice of utilizing available parts during production runs. This unique detail adds a touch of vintage character and serves as an interesting piece of Marantz history, without affecting the performance, authenticity, or collectability of the unit.
This legendary Japanese-made Marantz 2250 stereo receiver from 1975-1977 is a coveted piece of audio history, delivering classic Marantz warmth and musicality with its robust 50 watts per channel power output.
The Marantz 2250 represents the golden age of receiver design, combining exceptional build quality with versatile functionality. This all-in-one unit features a sensitive FM tuner, highly selective AM tuner, low-distortion preamplifier, and two direct-coupled power amplifiers that provide clean, dynamic sound reproduction. The elegant brushed aluminum faceplate houses the iconic blue-lit display with precision tuning and signal strength meters that are hallmarks of the classic Marantz aesthetic.
Audio enthusiasts particularly appreciate the 2250’s warm, balanced sound signature with excellent soundstage and channel separation. The bass response is tight and controlled even at lower volumes, while the midrange presents vocals and instruments with natural presence. Many owners report that the power output is actually underrated, with performance closer to 70 watts per channel when properly maintained.
This receiver offers impressive flexibility with comprehensive input options and tone-shaping capabilities, making it suitable for a wide range of speaker pairings and listening preferences.
