Our own Gold Series subwoofer cable: gold-plated corrosion-resistant connectors, heavy shielding, and slim plug jackets that fit behind a sub pushed against a wall. Four stock lengths, 2 to 10 metres, so the run from your amplifier to wherever the sub really sits is one cable.
Gold Series Subwoofer Cable, from $39.00 →Paradigm PS-1000 v1 Powered Subwoofer 525W Peak, Made in Canada
The Paradigm PS-1000 v1 is a Canadian-made powered bandpass subwoofer delivering deep, tight, high-impact bass through Paradigm’s proprietary DCBS dual-cavity bass-shaping enclosure technology, built during Paradigm’s peak era of domestic manufacturing in their Toronto facility.
The PS-1000 v1 established the foundation of one of Paradigm’s most celebrated subwoofer lines, combining the DCBS bandpass enclosure design with a robust 130-watt RMS high-current discrete amplifier to produce bass extension down to 24Hz (DIN) — genuinely deep, room-pressurizing low frequencies that most comparably priced subwoofers simply cannot match. The DCBS design conceals the 10-inch polypropylene cone driver between two sealed chambers, firing into a larger ported outer chamber through three high-velocity resistive ports, delivering lower distortion, higher efficiency, and improved low-frequency extension compared to conventional ported or sealed designs. This is the same core engineering philosophy that carried the PS-1000 line through multiple successful generations, and the v1 remains a compelling performer by any measure.
The built-in amplifier features Powersaver auto-on/standby circuitry that activates the subwoofer when signal is detected and returns to standby during quiet passages, along with soft clipping protection to safeguard the amplifier during extreme dynamic passages. Both line-level and speaker-level inputs are provided, ensuring compatibility with virtually any receiver, integrated amplifier, or processor regardless of whether a dedicated subwoofer output is available. Variable crossover frequency (50–150Hz) and continuously variable phase alignment (0°–180°) allow precise integration with any main speakers in any room, making the PS-1000 v1 a genuinely flexible addition to both dedicated home theater and two-channel music systems.
This example is sounding great and presents in very good cosmetic condition, with only light signs of careful home use on the cabinet surfaces and all controls and connections fully functional.

Dimensions (Width x Height x Depth): 17 x 16.75 x 19 inches (43 x 43 x 49 cm)
Weight: 58 lbs (26.5 kg)
At 58 lbs, this subwoofer’s substantial mass reflects the heavy-duty cabinet construction, large amplifier transformer, and robust driver assembly that give the PS-1000 its legendary low-frequency authority — this is serious Canadian engineering in a serious enclosure.
This Canadian-made Paradigm PS-1000 v1 is a proven, high-performance powered subwoofer that continues to deliver genuine deep bass and home theater impact well beyond what its used asking price would suggest. Sounding great and in very good cosmetic condition, it is an outstanding value for home theater builders, music enthusiasts, and anyone seeking real low-frequency extension from a trusted Canadian manufacturer.

LG SH96TA-W Passive Subwoofer, Front-Firing, Front-Ported, Black
The passive subwoofer that shipped with LG's SH96TA home-theatre system — forward-firing driver and a front port, so it can back onto a wall or sit inside a cabinet without upsetting the tuning. It is a 3-ohm load and needs a receiver with a dedicated passive-subwoofer output; it should not go on ordinary speaker terminals. No power cord, no plate amp to age out. Good cosmetic condition.

Polk Audio PSW350 10″ Front-Firing Powered Subwoofer 260W
A 10-inch front-firing Dynamic Balance woofer on a 100-watt RMS amplifier — 260 watts dynamic — in a dual-rear-ported cabinet good for 25 to 180 Hz. Speaker-level in and out, stereo line inputs and an unfiltered LFE jack, with a variable 60 to 160 Hz low-pass and a phase switch. 37 lbs, black matte. Very good cosmetic condition.
Yamaha YST-SW105 Active Servo Subwoofer — Compact 100W
An 8-inch front-firing paper cone on Yamaha's Advanced Active Servo amplifier — 100 watts into 5 ohms, down to 30 Hz, from a cabinet small enough to tuck beside a bookshelf pair. Continuously variable high-cut from 50 to 150 Hz, a Music/Movie voicing switch, RCA and speaker-level inputs plus full-range pass-through outputs. Very good condition.
Yamaha SW-3 Active Servo Subwoofer — 10″ Woofer | Air Woofer Tec
Yamaha’s Active Servo Technology couples a negative-impedance drive amplifier to a Helmholtz resonator port — the Air Woofer opening — so the amplifier corrects the driver’s motion as it works. 100 watts into a 25 cm cone, rated down to 25 Hz, with a continuously variable 50–150 Hz high-cut at 24 dB per octave. Speaker-level and line inputs both. Very good condition.
Mirage LF-150 10″ Powered Subwoofer – 600W Peak, Made in Canada
A discrete MOSFET Class A/B amplifier rated 150 watts continuous and 600 watts dynamic peak, driving a 10-inch polypropylene titanium-deposit woofer on a 1.5-inch voice coil and a 28-ounce magnet. Front-ported to 23 Hz, with level, phase and crossover on the front panel instead of the back. Made in Canada, 45 lbs; very good condition.
JVC SX-PW33 Slim Tower Subwoofer — 6.5in, 100W, High-Pass Out
A tall, narrow bass column meant to stand beside a cabinet rather than in front of it — 8.25 inches across the front and unusually deep at 17, which is the trade: the depth buys back the internal volume the narrow baffle gives away, so a 6.5 inch woofer is properly loaded in a strip of floor barely wider than a hardcover book. Driven by an integrated 100 watt amplifier, with speaker-level inputs and high-pass outputs so it works with an amplifier that has no subwoofer output at all. Good condition.
