Our Marantz WC-22 Style Cherrywood Cabinet is a modern, purpose-built upgrade for the Marantz 22xx series — handcrafted from genuine Ottawa Valley cherrywood veneer over a premium medium density MDF core, with finished and bevelled front edges, fully finished rear edges, and a ventilated metal grill insert for safe, stylish display. The original Marantz WC-22 wood cabinet is becoming nearly impossible to find in original condition. Most surviving examples are worn, damaged, or heavily refinished after 50+ years of use — and when you do find a clean one, you’re paying a premium for aging walnut veneer and no warranty. We built something better.

The Radique Audio Marantz WC-22 Style Cherrywood Cabinet is a precision-fitted, modern upgrade for owners of the Marantz 22xx series receiver. Handcrafted from genuine Ottawa Valley cherrywood veneer over a premium medium density MDF core, this cabinet is built to last another 50 years — and to look stunning doing it.

WHY CHERRYWOOD?

Cherrywood is one of the most prized hardwoods in North American furniture and cabinetry. Its warm, rich grain deepens and beautifies with age, developing a gorgeous patina over time. Ottawa Valley cherry finished naturally — without the harsh chemicals found in many competing products — will gradually darken over the years, developing an even richer, more lustrous appearance that only gets more beautiful with age. Paired with the iconic silver faceplate and blue dial lighting of a Marantz 22xx receiver, the result is nothing short of spectacular.

WC-22 STYLE CHERRYWOOD CABINET — CRAFTSMANSHIP IN EVERY DETAIL

Every cabinet begins with carefully book-matched cherry veneer, cut to create a seamless waterfall grain pattern across the top and sides. The veneer is sanded to a silky 320-grit smoothness before a traditional boiled linseed oil finish is hand-applied and allowed to fully cure — bringing out the rich, natural beauty of the wood grain from within. A final coat of beeswax polish adds a warm, subtle lustre and lasting protection. The result is a living piece of craftsmanship — made with care, not chemicals — and one that will look even better a decade from now than it does today.

The front edges are fully finished and hand-bevelled for a refined, furniture-grade appearance that frames your Marantz faceplate beautifully. The rear edges are fully finished — because we believe the back of your cabinet should look as good as the front, even when no one is watching. This is the level of detail that separates a purpose-built premium cabinet from a generic aftermarket enclosure.

WHY MEDIUM DENSITY MDF?

Not all engineered wood is created equal. Medium density MDF is the industry standard for acoustically neutral cabinet construction — its resin binder matrix absorbs vibrational energy exceptionally well, producing a deadened, inert response rather than the ringing resonance of denser or harder materials. This means your cabinet adds nothing to the sound of your Marantz — and takes nothing away. Just pure, unadulterated vintage audio performance.

BUILT FOR YOUR MARANTZ — NO MODIFICATIONS NEEDED

Installation takes minutes. Simply remove your receiver’s original feet using a Phillips head screwdriver, slide the cabinet on, then reattach the original feet using the longer screws included with your cabinet. The longer screws pass through the stock Marantz feet to secure the cabinet firmly to the receiver — no drilling, no modifications, no guesswork. For a perfect, rattle-free fit, the WC-22 cabinet comes pre-drilled to match all common Marantz 22xx receiver foot location variants.
