The HTM62 is designed to serve as the anchor of a home theatre or two-channel system, and it earns that role with genuinely impressive clarity and tonal balance. Two 130mm (5″) Kevlar cone mid-bass drivers flank a 25mm (1″) aluminium dome tweeter in a symmetrical MTM arrangement that delivers excellent horizontal dispersion and consistent dialogue intelligibility across a wide listening area. The Kevlar cones — a signature B&W material choice since the 1970s — combine lightness with rigidity in a way that minimizes unwanted resonances and lets the midrange breathe with the natural, grain-free quality that the brand is known for. The aluminium dome tweeter extends cleanly to 50 kHz, contributing an airiness and precision at the top end that many competing centre channels in this class simply cannot match.

The HTM62 can be positioned horizontally as a conventional centre channel shelf speaker or mounted vertically to serve as a main left or right speaker — a flexibility that makes it genuinely useful in a variety of room layouts.
