Energy Connoisseur CF-50 2.5-Way Tower Speakers
A pair of Energy Connoisseur CF-50 compact floorstanding speakers — a highly efficient, four-driver 2.5-way tower from one of Canada’s most respected loudspeaker manufacturers, in very good condition.
The CF-50 is the standout performer of Energy’s Connoisseur series, and its 96 dB sensitivity rating immediately sets it apart from virtually everything else in its class. At 96 dB, the CF-50 requires only a fraction of the amplifier power that a typical 87–88 dB speaker needs to achieve the same listening level — one watt produces what most speakers need eight watts to match. This makes the CF-50 an ideal partner for lower-powered vintage amplifiers and receivers, while its 20–250 watt power handling range means it scales equally well with high-powered modern electronics. The front-firing bass reflex port extends low-frequency response to a genuine 39 Hz, producing room-filling bass authority that belies the speaker’s slim, 7.1-inch wide cabinet.
The 2.5-way four-driver topology is the key to the CF-50’s combination of sensitivity and tonal balance. Three 140mm (5.5″) woofers with Ribbed Elliptical Surrounds — a surround geometry that reduces distortion at higher excursion levels — handle the bass and lower midrange together, with two woofers rolling off at 1.2 kHz while the third continues operating up to the 2 kHz tweeter crossover. This arrangement provides generous cone area for low-frequency output while giving the upper midrange the focus and control of a single dedicated driver. The 25mm (1″) hyperbolic aluminum dome tweeter delivers clean, extended highs with a wide dispersion characteristic that keeps the top end consistent across a broad listening area. Energy’s Convergent Source Module positions the tweeter in close proximity to the upper woofer, acting as a near-point source to improve spatial coherence and imaging.
The high-gloss black baffle with black ash cabinet sides and gold-plated 5-way binding posts give the CF-50 a clean, purpose-built appearance that suits home theatre and two-channel installations equally well. Bi-wire and bi-amp capability via the dual binding posts allows those with suitable electronics to extract additional performance from the design.
These speakers have been thoroughly inspected and tested to confirm full functionality.

Definitive Technology BP-10 4-Driver Bipolar Towers — USA-Built
Each tower is two complete two-way systems, one facing forward and one facing directly backward, both radiating in phase. That is the whole point: where a dipole panel's front and rear bass partially cancel and the speaker has to come several feet into the room, these reinforce each other and the tower is happiest eight to twelve inches off the wall. Four drivers a side, bass to 20 Hz, built in Baltimore. Graded Good, and the grade is the high-gloss end caps — three decades of black lacquer carries scuffs and a few small chips.
Tannoy Mercury F3 Slim Floorstanding Speakers — Apple Finish
A two-way floorstander built on a deliberately simple recipe: one 6.5 inch bass and midrange driver covering everything below a 1 inch textile dome, crossed at 2.7 kHz by a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley — no midrange handover in the region the ear is most sensitive to, and drivers that sum flat and stay in phase through the crossing. 89 dB into a nominal 8 ohms, happy on anything from 10 to 100 watts, and eight inches wide. The light Apple finish hardly ever comes up. Very Good condition.
Totem Acoustic Sttaf Floorstanders — Maple, Made in Canada
Totem's slim, hand-built Montreal floorstander in the maple veneer the factory charged extra for — a single 5.5-inch driver and a textile dome in a narrow mono-shell cabinet that images far wider than its size and reaches 39 Hz. Happiest at civilised levels in a small to medium room. Fitted here with Radique Audio bi-wire bridges. Pair, ships from Kanata, ON.
Totem Claw Speaker Isolation Feet — Set of 6, Machined Aluminum
Totem's own decoupling feet — the same machined aluminium Claws the factory fits to the Forest and the Wind — as a complete set of six, enough for one pair of speakers at three per cabinet. They fix with the included self-tapping screws, so no threaded insert is needed, and work on hardwood, tile or concrete where spikes do not. Ball bearings included.

Energy Connoisseur C-8 Tower Speakers, High Gloss Black, Canada
The flagship of Energy’s Connoisseur range, built in Toronto by a company whose voicing grew out of the National Research Council’s listening work in Ottawa. Two 8-inch aluminium-polypropylene woofers and a cloth-suspended aluminium dome, crossed at 1,800 Hz and reaching 28 Hz — genuinely full-range, so most rooms will not want a subwoofer under them. At 93 dB it runs happily on 30 watts. High-gloss black, made in Canada, 57 lb each. Very Good condition. Pair — pickup in Kanata, or we deliver.
