The CF-30 is part of Energy’s well-regarded Connoisseur series and represents the kind of thoughtful Canadian speaker engineering that the brand built its reputation on. The 2.5-way configuration deploys two 140mm (5.5″) woofers with Energy’s Ribbed Elliptical Surrounds — a design that increases surround linearity and reduces distortion at higher excursion levels — crossed over at 1.6 kHz and 2.0 kHz respectively to a 25mm (1″) hyperbolic aluminum dome tweeter. The 2.5-way topology means both woofers handle bass together while only one operates into the midrange, a configuration that delivers better bass output and lower distortion than a conventional 2-way could achieve at this cabinet size. The front-firing bass reflex port extends the low-frequency response to a genuine 43 Hz — more than capable of producing convincing bass in small to medium-sized rooms with or without a subwoofer.

At 90 dB sensitivity and an 8-ohm nominal impedance, the CF-30 is a confident and easy load for any amplifier in the 20–200 watt range. Standing just 36 inches tall with a slim 7.1-inch wide footprint, these towers disappear gracefully in rooms where a conventional full-size floorstander would feel imposing, yet they consistently deliver sound that surprises listeners expecting compact-speaker limitations.
