Enjoy the simplicity and reliability of the Kenwood KD-291R—a well-built semi-automatic belt-drive turntable from the early 1990s that combines ease of use with solid performance. Fully serviced and working perfectly, this turntable features automatic return functionality and a low-mass straight tonearm for accurate tracking and musical sound.
The KD-291R uses a DC servo motor with precision belt drive for stable, quiet rotation at both 33⅓ and 45 rpm speeds. The integrated straight tonearm is designed for low mass and low resonance, providing excellent tracking with minimal distortion. At the end of each record side, the tonearm automatically returns to its rest position—combining the convenience of automation with manual cueing control for the ultimate flexibility.

The unit includes a hinged dust cover, 45 rpm adapter, and attractive black finish that complements any vintage or modern audio system.

A late-1970s belt-drive with a frequency-generator servo motor and an S-shaped arm — the quiet alternative to the direct-drive Technics everyone else buys. Over $120 of bench time went into this one: tonearm repaired and reconnected with a replacement headshell, pitch pots deoxidised to cure the speed drift these are known for, a new belt, a new Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge, and the platter rim sanded and polished. No dust cover.

A 16-pole asynchronous motor turns a 304mm die-cast aluminium platter at ±0.07% wow and flutter, through a low-mass tubular arm on a four-point gimbal bearing.
