A matched pair of Linn K20 speaker wire extension cables, four metres each, with Linn banana plugs at one end and insulated 4 mm sockets at the other.
What it is
K20 is Linn’s two-core speaker cable, still in the range today and sold by the metre through Linn specialists. It is the sensible, honest heart of the Linn cable line: two heavy cores of finely stranded copper, each 4 square millimetres, in Linn’s flexible grey sheath with the name printed along its length. At about 11 AWG it carries more copper than most speaker cable sold as heavy-gauge, and its low capacitance and inductance keep it out of the way of the amplifier.
How they work
These are extension cables. Plug your existing banana-terminated speaker cable into the sockets at one end, and the Linn banana plugs at the other end go into your amplifier or your speakers. That adds four metres of serious, name-brand cable to each run, with no cutting, splicing or re-terminating.
That is handy when a speaker needs to sit further from the amplifier than your current cable reaches, when you want to try a new speaker position without rewiring, or when a second pair of speakers lives across the room. The sockets are fully insulated, with red and black collars to keep the polarity straight, and the banana plugs fit any banana-ready binding post or 4 mm socket.

Eight feet six inches a side of heavy 14 AWG twin-conductor — denser in the hand than most 14 gauge, with thick insulation that resists kinking and lies flat along a baseboard. Fourteen gauge is the recommended minimum out to about fifty feet on an 8-ohm load, so at this length there is conductor to spare. Terminated here with our own banana plugs at all four ends and heat-shrunk at every joint.
