AudioQuest Indigo+ 8-Foot Bi-Wire Speaker Cables – Solid FPC and Solid LGC Copper Hyperlitz, Radique Audio Banana Termination, Made in USA
An eight-foot pair built on the legendary AudioQuest Indigo+ core wire, re-terminated here for true bi-wire with our own gold-plated banana plugs.
Solid-Core Conductors
Almost all speaker cable is stranded copper, because stranded is cheap and easy to make. AudioQuest went the other way, which is why the Indigo+ is still highly sought after by audiophiles decades after it left production. The Indigo+ is built from solid-core conductors, spiraled in AudioQuest’s Hyperlitz geometry so that each conductor keeps a constant relationship to the others down the length of the run. The point of it is that strand-to-strand interaction — the small, constantly changing contacts between adjacent strands in an ordinary cable — is designed out rather than tolerated.
The Hybrid Metals
The other thing worth knowing is the metal, and it is printed right on the jacket: solid FPC copper and solid LGC copper, together, in the same cable. This is the point in AudioQuest’s range where they began mixing conductor grades rather than building the whole cable from one, on the same principle as bypassing a large capacitor with a small high-quality one. Eight conductors in total, in several different gauges, each individually insulated and held in a fixed spiral relationship to the others. Made in the USA, back when that was still the ordinary answer rather than a selling point.
Re-Terminated on Our Bench
These have been re-terminated in our own shop for true bi-wire, in a two-plug to four-plug layout. The core was stripped back to fresh copper and fitted with Radique Audio premium gold-plated banana plugs: a single pair at the amplifier end, splitting cleanly to two pairs at the speaker end. The breakout is custom-dressed in heavy flexible jacketing, with colour-coded heat-shrink at every grouping, and each cable ships with a Radique Audio strap. It is worth looking at the photographs — this is the part that does not photograph as ordinary.
How Bi-Wiring Works
Run this way, the jumper plates come off your speakers entirely. Each cable feeds the low-frequency and high-frequency binding posts on its own conductors, all the way back to the amplifier, which is the whole point of owning a bi-wireable speaker in the first place.
Why Eight Feet
Eight feet is the length most people actually need. Long enough to run an amplifier along one wall and speakers along another, short enough not to coil a surplus loop behind the rack, and long enough to keep both channels equal — which matters more than most people think, since matching cable lengths left and right is free and costs nothing to get right at purchase.
A Word on Weight
Be warned that these are heavy. A cable this substantial does not drape politely, and it wants a moment’s thought about how it leaves the binding post.
Condition
The cables are in very good condition. The terminations are new.
Who These Are For
If you are running decent speakers on whatever wire came in the box, this is the upgrade that costs the least and is easiest to hear the argument for.

Intensifier Audio 14AWG Speaker Cables 8.5ft Pair, Banana Plugs
Eight feet six inches a side of heavy 14 AWG twin-conductor — denser in the hand than most 14 gauge, with thick insulation that resists kinking and lies flat along a baseboard. Fourteen gauge is the recommended minimum out to about fifty feet on an 8-ohm load, so at this length there is conductor to spare. Terminated here with our own banana plugs at all four ends and heat-shrunk at every joint.
4′ 14 AWG Monster XP Cables w/ Spades & Banana Plugs
A pair of four-foot runs of 14 AWG Monster XP speaker wire, terminated at both ends: Radique Audio banana plugs at one end, Radique Audio spade connectors at the other. Four feet is a short run — amplifier and speakers sitting close together, with nothing to strip and nothing left over. Eighty-five dollars for the set.
Pair of 4′ Monster Cable Z Series Z1R Reference Speaker Cables
A four-foot pair from Monster's Z Series, terminated at both ends with Monster's own banana plugs. Twisted copper strands around a central core, PEX dielectric, and the multiple-gauge Time Correct network Monster used at the top of the range. Heavy for their length, and short enough to suit a bookshelf pair or a compact home theatre run.

Eight strands of 19.5 AWG oxygen-free copper braided in Kimber's black and brown jacket — four strands per leg, which aggregates to 13 AWG a side. Pair of 6′ Canare 4S8 13 AWG Speaker Cables (B/S)
Canare's 4S8 in a four-conductor star-quad geometry — every conductor the same distance from the centre, so the opposing magnetic fields cancel and the cable radiates far less interference into whatever runs beside it. 13 AWG, low capacitance and resistance, and flexible even below freezing. Terminated here with our own banana plugs at one end and spade connectors at the other.
