The Totem Mite is the product of founder Vince Bruzzese’s singular philosophy: that a small speaker, properly designed, can do things no large speaker can — specifically, the kind of pinpoint, three-dimensional imaging and precise soundstage focus that emerges when cabinet diffraction and driver interference are eliminated. The 5.5-inch granulated woofer and 1-inch soft dome tweeter are crossed over at 3.2 kHz with both electrical and mechanical crossover alignment, and the borosilicate-damped, lock-mitered cabinet is virtually resonance-free. The result is a speaker that images like a miniature electrostatic — placing instruments and voices in a precise, tangible space that draws the listener in completely.

Low-impedance air core crossover coils preserve signal integrity throughout the audio band, and the solid twin-pair gold-plated binding posts allow bi-wiring for those who wish to extract every last detail. Totem recommends placement 1 to 4 feet from the rear wall and 3 to 12 feet apart — a placement range that makes them genuinely practical in a wide variety of rooms.
