This beautiful Japanese-manufactured Pioneer SX-535 vintage receiver has been carefully restored by Radique and freshly customized with our gorgeous real wood cherry veneer, creating a stunning visual centerpiece that has undergone our Level One service and testing which should ensure many more years of reliable performance ahead. Originally retailing for $299.95 in 1974, this classic receiver embodies Pioneer’s “practical power” philosophy, delivering 20 watts per channel of pure, clean audio that proves high wattage isn’t everything when it comes to exceptional musical reproduction.
The SX-535 features Pioneer’s advanced FM tuner section with low-noise FET front end, 3-gang variable capacitor, and Phase Lock Loop MPX circuitry for exceptional reception clarity and stability. The precision RIAA-equalized phono stage uses a 2-stage direct-coupled design that faithfully reproduces every nuance pressed into your vinyl records without coloration. The direct-coupled OCL power amplifier design keeps total harmonic distortion to just 0.8% across the full audio spectrum while the discrete component construction ensures serviceability and long-term reliability.
Comprehensive connectivity includes magnetic phono input, auxiliary input, dual tape loops for deck-to-deck recording, front-panel microphone jack, and dual speaker outputs. The click-stop bass and treble controls, loudness compensation, and muting function provide precise audio tailoring. That iconic blue dial glow and Pioneer’s signature beveled knobs complete the mesmerizing 1970s aesthetic, now enhanced by the warmth and elegance of genuine cherry wood veneer.

Pioneer SX-50 Silver Face Receiver – 50 WPC, Pre-Outs, 1983
Fifty watts a channel into 8 ohms at 0.007% distortion, and — unusually for a receiver this size — pre-out and main-in jacks on the back, so it can feed a subwoofer, take an equalizer in the loop, or hand off to a larger power amp. Introduced in 1983 with switchable CD and TV audio inputs, presets held by three AA cells, and the silver face of the decade that was ending. Graded Very Good.
