Unlike many of its competitors, B&W has focused its resources primarily on loudspeakers, and the CC6 represents the company’s commitment to bringing advanced driver technology from flagship designs into dedicated home cinema applications.

The CC6 is a dedicated center channel monitor specially designed to relay clean, crisp dialogue with the tonal accuracy and natural vocal timbre that makes extended viewing sessions enjoyable rather than fatiguing. Magnetic shielding prevents interference with CRT television screens, making the CC6 ideal for placement directly above or below vintage televisions or modern displays with sensitive electronics.

The CC6 employs a 2½-way vented-box design with two 120mm woven Kevlar cone bass/midrange drivers flanking a single 25mm aluminum dome tweeter. B&W developed and patented the method of using Kevlar for loudspeaker cones to reduce unwanted standing waves and cone breakup; DuPont originally created Kevlar for use in bulletproof vests, and B&W recognized its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio made it ideal for midrange reproduction. The familiar yellow Kevlar cones are visible through the grille and are closely related to those used in B&W’s more expensive tower speakers from the same era.

The 2½-way design means one woofer handles full bass/midrange duties while the second woofer rolls off gently in the upper midrange, handing off to the tweeter for seamless integration. This approach provides better power handling and lower distortion than a simple 2-way design while maintaining phase coherence critical for dialogue intelligibility. The front-mounted port reduces sensitivity to rear-wall distance, making placement more flexible in typical entertainment centers and TV stands.

The rear panel features dual pairs of 5-way binding posts, suitable for bi-wiring or bi-amping when used with suitable amplification. The posts are gold-plated and accept banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire termination. When used in standard single-wire mode, the supplied jumper straps connect the two pairs together.
