The SVS SB-1000 is a compact, acoustically refined 12-inch sealed powered subwoofer that has earned a reputation as one of the finest entry-into-serious-bass subwoofers available at any price — delivering tight, articulate, deep low-frequency performance from a genuinely modest footprint.
Part of SVS’s celebrated SB-series sealed subwoofer lineup, the SB-1000 pairs a 12-inch high-performance driver with a 300-watt RMS / 700-watt peak Class D amplifier in a compact sealed-enclosure cube. The sealed (acoustic suspension) design delivers the fastest, most transient-accurate bass of any subwoofer topology, making the SB-1000 as enjoyable for two-channel music as it is for home theatre duty. Extension reaches down to 24 Hz — remarkable from a cabinet this size — with clean, composed output at both modest and enthusiastic listening levels.
The rear amplifier panel is thoughtfully equipped with a continuously variable low-pass filter (with defeat option for use with processor crossover management), continuously variable volume and phase controls, a 3-position line-level vs. LFE input mode, and both line-level (RCA) and speaker-level inputs for flexible integration with any receiver, integrated amp, or processor. Auto on/off standby circuitry keeps idle power consumption minimal.
The Piano Gloss Black finish is the premium option in the SB-1000 lineup — a high-gloss, lacquered surface with depth and lustre that presents beautifully in any listening room. Yamaha’s Active Servo Technology couples a negative-impedance drive amplifier to a Helmholtz resonator port — the Air Woofer opening — so the amplifier corrects the driver’s motion as it works. 100 watts into a 25 cm cone, rated down to 25 Hz, with a continuously variable 50–150 Hz high-cut at 24 dB per octave. Speaker-level and line inputs both. Very good condition.
Mirage LF-150 10″ Powered Subwoofer – 600W Peak, Made in Canada
A discrete MOSFET Class A/B amplifier rated 150 watts continuous and 600 watts dynamic peak, driving a 10-inch polypropylene titanium-deposit woofer on a 1.5-inch voice coil and a 28-ounce magnet. Front-ported to 23 Hz, with level, phase and crossover on the front panel instead of the back. Made in Canada, 45 lbs; very good condition.
JVC SX-PW33 Slim Tower Subwoofer — 6.5in, 100W, High-Pass Out
A tall, narrow bass column meant to stand beside a cabinet rather than in front of it — 8.25 inches across the front and unusually deep at 17, which is the trade: the depth buys back the internal volume the narrow baffle gives away, so a 6.5 inch woofer is properly loaded in a strip of floor barely wider than a hardcover book. Driven by an integrated 100 watt amplifier, with speaker-level inputs and high-pass outputs so it works with an amplifier that has no subwoofer output at all. Good condition.
