Tannoy Profile 621 Dual Concentric Center Speaker – Made in UK

A British-built Tannoy center channel with a genuine Dual Concentric driver, in black ash and very good condition.

What it is

The Profile 621 comes from Tannoy’s mid-nineties Profile range, built in the UK. It uses the idea Tannoy is famous for: the Dual Concentric driver, with the tweeter mounted at the center of the 5″ woofer so that both play from the same point. Instead of two drivers side by side, as most center channels have, the sound comes from a single source, which keeps voices focused and consistent as you move around the room.

That matters most in a center channel, where the dialogue lives. With a single point source there is no lobing between side-by-side drivers, so everyone on the sofa hears the same clear, natural voice, not only the person in the middle seat. A front port adds bass reach, so it can sit close to a wall or on a TV cabinet, and at 89 dB it is easy to drive from any home theatre receiver.

On the back, four threaded inserts take a mounting bracket, and a single pair of gold-plated binding posts accepts banana plugs, spades or bare wire.

Condition

Very Good. The black ash cabinet, baffle and driver present cleanly, as the photographs show, and the grille is included.
