The NS-SW050 is built around two core Yamaha technologies that work together to produce unusually clean, controlled bass for a subwoofer in this class. Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II) uses negative-impedance and constant-current principles to dynamically optimize speaker impedance, ensuring the 8-inch cone driver moves with tight linearity and accuracy rather than the loose, boomy bass that plagues many budget subwoofers. The Twisted Flare Port takes this further: its gently twisting, flared shape diffuses the vortex of air generated at the port opening, smoothing airflow and dramatically reducing port noise and chuffing — even at higher volumes. The result is bass that reviewers consistently describe as tight, clean, and realistic, whether for the deep rumble of movie sound effects or the punch of bass-heavy music.

JVC SX-PW33 Slim Tower Subwoofer — 6.5in, 100W, High-Pass Out
A tall, narrow bass column meant to stand beside a cabinet rather than in front of it — 8.25 inches across the front and unusually deep at 17, which is the trade: the depth buys back the internal volume the narrow baffle gives away, so a 6.5 inch woofer is properly loaded in a strip of floor barely wider than a hardcover book. Driven by an integrated 100 watt amplifier, with speaker-level inputs and high-pass outputs so it works with an amplifier that has no subwoofer output at all. Good condition.
