The Paradigm Monitor 7 v1 is a classic Canadian-made slim tower loudspeaker that combines an elegant, space-friendly footprint with impressive dynamics, bass reach, and room-filling sound for both music and home theater use.
This first-generation Monitor 7 helped establish Paradigm’s long-running Monitor series reputation for high performance and strong value, combining a slim cabinet with genuine full-range capability for music and home theater. Excellent cosmetic condition and the black ash finish make this pair an attractive choice for living rooms and dedicated listening spaces alike. With their efficient, amplifier-friendly design, they work well with a wide range of quality integrated amps and receivers, from modest vintage units up to more powerful modern solid-state amplifiers.
Using a 3-driver, 2½-way bass-reflex configuration, the Monitor 7 v1 employs a 1-inch PTD high-frequency driver, a 6.5-inch ICP cone mid/bass driver on a die-cast chassis, and a dedicated 6.5-inch carbon-infused bass driver, also on a die-cast chassis. The carefully executed quasi–3rd-order resistive port and multi-slope crossover network (3rd-order at 2.0 kHz and 2nd-order at 400 Hz) help the speaker maintain good control, smooth integration between drivers, and strong off-axis performance for a wide listening area. The result is a lively, engaging sound with solid low-frequency extension, clear midrange, and clean, extended highs that suit everything from classic rock and jazz to film soundtracks.

Each tower is two complete two-way systems, one facing forward and one facing directly backward, both radiating in phase. That is the whole point: where a dipole panel's front and rear bass partially cancel and the speaker has to come several feet into the room, these reinforce each other and the tower is happiest eight to twelve inches off the wall. Four drivers a side, bass to 20 Hz, built in Baltimore. Graded Good, and the grade is the high-gloss end caps — three decades of black lacquer carries scuffs and a few small chips.
Tannoy Mercury F3 Slim Floorstanding Speakers — Apple Finish
A two-way floorstander built on a deliberately simple recipe: one 6.5 inch bass and midrange driver covering everything below a 1 inch textile dome, crossed at 2.7 kHz by a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley — no midrange handover in the region the ear is most sensitive to, and drivers that sum flat and stay in phase through the crossing. 89 dB into a nominal 8 ohms, happy on anything from 10 to 100 watts, and eight inches wide. The light Apple finish hardly ever comes up. Very Good condition.
