What it is

4PR is the cable that made Kimber’s reputation with people who do not normally believe in cables. The woven four-conductor geometry is not styling — the braid is the engineering, and it is why 4PR has stayed in the catalogue essentially unchanged for decades while fashions came and went around it. In the black-and-red jacket it is instantly recognisable to anyone who has spent time behind a rack.

Why pins and bananas

Kimber terminates 4PR at the factory with bananas or spades, so a pin-ended pair is something you will not find off the shelf. Pins are what a vintage receiver with spring-clip terminals wants: think of the Marantz 22-series and many of its contemporaries. Our Radique Audio pin connectors are made for spring clips and guillotine terminals, where bare wire frays and works loose, and the pin flexes rather than sitting rigid, so it does not lever on an older terminal. At the speaker end, Radique Audio Banana Plugs give a solid, quick connection to modern binding posts, and both ends are colour-coordinated so polarity reads at a glance.

Eight feet per cable gives most people enough slack to place the speakers where they sound best.

Every joint and termination is heat-shrink reinforced and colour-coordinated, with the splits and end segments reinforced for the real life of a cable behind a system.
