Marantz 2230 Vintage Stereo Receiver – Serviced, 30 WPC, Custom Ottawa Valley Cherry Wood Cabinetry
Introduced in 1971 and built through the mid-1970s, the Marantz 2230 is one of the most beloved members of the legendary 22XX series. Made in Japan and presented here in our custom Ottawa Valley cherry cabinet, it pairs the iconic brushed-aluminum faceplate, blue dial illumination, and gyro-touch tuning with a conservatively rated 30 watts-per-channel amplifier that consistently punches above its spec sheet. The sound is unmistakably Marantz — warm, musical, full-bodied, and especially flattering to vinyl through its highly regarded moving-magnet phono stage. With the cherry cabinet in place, the 2230 stops being just a receiver and starts acting like a proper statement piece.
Pair the 2230 with our RA-Twin II Bluetooth streamer and you get the best of both worlds — effortless streaming from your phone, tablet, or laptop into one of Marantz’s most musical vintage platforms. The cabinet adds furniture-grade presence, warm-toned vintage cohesion, and exactly the kind of craftsmanship modern gear usually talks about but rarely delivers.

Why Choose Radique 🛡️
Every vintage receiver leaving our Ottawa workshop is restored with the same standard we’d apply to gear staying in our own listening rooms. We test, service, and document each unit, then pack it in 275 lb-test double-wall packaging engineered to survive courier handling — see our unboxing video for what to expect at the door. Buying restored vintage is the most sustainable path in hi-fi: keeping a 50-year-old machine in service beats sending it to landfill and chasing the next disposable receiver.

Ultralink High Def Power Conditioner with Display, BNIB HDC150
Eight surge-protected, filtered AC outlets with isolated banks for digital, video, audio and high-current components — four always-on, four switched.
Enough outlets for the whole stack, not just the amplifier — television, Blu-ray and streamer alongside a receiver, or turntable, CD player and cassette deck alongside a vintage amp. 3,500 joule protection, EMI/RFI filtration to 58 dB, and surge protection on the coax and network lines most conditioners leave unguarded. Patented ASP voltage monitoring and a 15 amp resettable breaker.
Brand new, unopened, in original packaging with full manufacturer warranty.
Gold Plated Pin Connectors – Flexible Pins, Radique Audio
Made for spring clips and guillotine terminals, where bare wire frays and works loose. The pin flexes rather than sitting rigid, so it does not lever on a forty-year-old terminal, and two set screws hold the wire instead of one. Takes 12 to 18 AWG — 12 is a tight fit. Colour-coded non-conductive jackets and a textured grip. Sold in 1, 2, 4 or 10 pairs.

Pioneer SX-50 Silver Face Receiver – 50 WPC, Pre-Outs, 1983
Fifty watts a channel into 8 ohms at 0.007% distortion, and — unusually for a receiver this size — pre-out and main-in jacks on the back, so it can feed a subwoofer, take an equalizer in the loop, or hand off to a larger power amp. Introduced in 1983 with switchable CD and TV audio inputs, presets held by three AA cells, and the silver face of the decade that was ending. Graded Very Good.
Kenwood KR-A4070 Stereo Receiver – 60WPC, Phono, Original Remote
Sixty watts a channel into 8 ohms across the full band at 0.01% distortion, with an MM phono input at 2.5mV, a tape monitor loop, and separate bass, treble and balance. The original Kenwood remote is here, which is uncommon on a receiver of this age. Level 1 serviced; cosmetically graded Good, with honest wear for its years.
Sherwood S-7250 CP Stereo Receiver – 20WPC, Phono, Wood Cabinet
Twenty watts a channel into 8 ohms across the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz band, an MM phono input at 80 dB signal-to-noise, and a tape monitor loop. Sherwood built these in small runs in Chicago and sold them through the same shops that carried Marantz and McIntosh. Still in its original wood cabinet. Level 1 serviced here; condition Very Good.

JVC JR-S201 Receiver – 35 WPC, Japan, SEA EQ, Excellent
Thirty-five watts a channel at 0.01% distortion with a damping factor of 70 — numbers most larger receivers of 1978 could not reach.
