Marantz Model 1070 Stereo Integrated Amplifier – 35 WPC, Silver Face, Solid Walnut Case, Sold As-Is for Parts or Repair
A complete 1970s Marantz integrated amplifier in good cosmetic condition, offered as-is for parts or repair. It is untested and sold as non-working, with no warranty implied.
What It Is When Working
Where the 1070 Sat in the Range
The 1070 is the integrated amplifier that sat alongside the 1060 in Marantz’s slim-line separates range, rated at 35 watts per channel into 8 ohms across the full 20Hz to 20kHz band at 0.3% distortion. It carries the Marantz phono stage at 1.8 millivolt sensitivity, a three-band tone section with a mid control rather than the usual bass and treble alone, high and low filters, a mode control, and inputs for phono, tuner, auxiliary and two tape decks. The preamplifier and power amplifier sections can be separated and used independently, and a speaker matrix circuit allows a four-speaker arrangement from the two channels. Output transistor protection is handled by Marantz’s PEP circuit.
The Walnut Case
The case is worth being precise about. Marantz did sell a walnut cabinet for this amplifier as a separately priced factory accessory, but this is not that cabinet. Nor is it one of the cabinets we build here. It is hand-built in solid walnut by a previous owner, and it reads as hand-built — the fit is looser than a factory cabinet or one of ours, and the joinery came out of a home workshop rather than a cabinet shop. On a unit bought for its parts that matters less than it would on a working piece, and the photographs will show you exactly what it is.
Why It Is Worth Having
What Carries the Value
The parts that carry the value on a vintage Marantz are the ones that cannot be bought new: the brushed silver faceplate, the knobs and switch caps, the power transformer and the chassis. This one is complete and cosmetically good, which is the whole point of a donor — a restorer wants a clean faceplate and an unmarked set of knobs far more than a working amplifier. Sold on that basis rather than as a working piece.
Who This Is For
Best suited for: a technically capable buyer, a repair shop, or an existing Marantz owner needing a parts donor.

Sony RCD-W3 Single Deck Playback – See Description
Sold as-is, and here is why: the left tray's laser has failed, so it will not record and will not play from that side. The right tray still plays CD, CD-R and CD-RW, and the digital outputs, analogue outputs and headphone jack with level control all work. That makes it a working CD player, a repair project, or parts. No returns, no warranty.

GoldenEar ForceField 4 Subwoofer – Parts/Repair, Amp Needs Work
Sold as-is for parts or repair — the amplifier board requires service and is not represented as working. What is good: the cabinet, very good cosmetically with its non-parallel walls intact; the custom front-firing 10-inch long-throw woofer, tested and working; and the 11 by 13 inch quadratic planar down-firing passive radiator, undamaged. GoldenEar supplies a replacement amplifier board through its service channel.
