The YST-SW105 is built around Yamaha’s Advanced Active Servo Technology — a proprietary feedback system that couples the amplifier and driver in a continuous correction loop, reducing distortion and extending low-frequency linearity well beyond what a conventional subwoofer of this size could achieve passively. The 20cm (8″) front-firing paper cone woofer and front-firing bass reflex port are tuned to work with the servo amplifier as a complete system, producing clean, musical bass down to 30 Hz that integrates naturally with compact satellite and bookshelf speakers. A B.A.S.S. (Bass Action Selector System) switch lets you optimize the sub’s voicing between Music and Movie modes, and the continuously variable high-cut filter (50–150 Hz at 24 dB/octave) makes dialling in the crossover point with your main speakers straightforward.
Connection flexibility is excellent for a sub of this class: both preamp-level RCA inputs and speaker-level inputs (banana plug compatible) are provided on the rear, along with full-range speaker-level output pass-through terminals — meaning the YST-SW105 can be integrated into any system regardless of whether a dedicated subwoofer output is available on the amplifier or receiver. Automatic standby (with adjustable Low/High sensitivity) powers the sub down when no signal is present and wakes it instantly when you start listening.
