Build a set to length →Paradigm Monitor 7 v2 Floorstanding Tower Speakers – Canadian Engineered and Manufactured; In black ash finish.
The Paradigm Monitor 7 v2 represents Canadian speaker engineering at its finest, designed and manufactured in Paradigm’s Mississauga, Ontario facility during the early 2000s when the company was cementing its reputation as one of North America’s premier value-oriented speaker manufacturers. The Monitor 7 v2 employs a sophisticated 2.5-way design with dual 6.5-inch woofers and a 1-inch pure-titanium dome tweeter, delivering remarkably extended bass response down to 33Hz and exceptional dynamic capability that belies the speaker’s modest footprint and price point. The quasi-3rd-order resistive port tuning ensures deep, controlled bass without the typical one-note boom of budget tower speakers, while the PTD pure-titanium tweeter provides articulate, fatigue-free high frequencies that remain composed even at elevated listening levels.
The engineering sophistication of the Monitor 7 v2 centers on its 2.5-way crossover configuration, where the upper woofer handles both bass and midrange duties while the lower woofer is rolled off above 400Hz to eliminate comb filtering and maintain clean midrange imaging. This design allows the speaker to behave like a traditional 3-way system in the critical midrange frequencies while maintaining the efficiency and simplicity of a 2-way design. The result is exceptional clarity across vocals and instruments, tight stereo imaging, and the ability to fill medium to large rooms with effortless, dynamic sound. With a sensitivity rating of 93dB (room) / 90dB (anechoic), these speakers are exceptionally efficient and will sing beautifully with amplifiers ranging from modest 15-watt tube amps to powerful 175-watt solid-state receivers.
The Monitor 7 v2’s build quality reflects Paradigm’s commitment to long-term durability and performance. Die-cast aluminum woofer chassis provide rigid, resonance-free mounting, while ICP injection-molded co-polymer polypropylene cones resist moisture and maintain their mechanical properties over decades of use. The Apical former design on the voice coils ensures power handling and thermal stability, allowing these speakers to handle demanding passages without compression or distortion. Dual sets of gold-plated binding posts enable bi-wiring or bi-amping for enthusiasts seeking maximum performance, while jumper bars are included for conventional single-wire connection.

Tannoy Profile 633 (D30) Towers — Black Ash, UK-Built, Bi-Wire
Mirage 550 Towers — Made in Canada, Sealed 10-Inch, Walnut
Definitive Technology BP-10 4-Driver Bipolar Towers — USA-Built
Each tower is two complete two-way systems, one facing forward and one facing directly backward, both radiating in phase. That is the whole point: where a dipole panel's front and rear bass partially cancel and the speaker has to come several feet into the room, these reinforce each other and the tower is happiest eight to twelve inches off the wall. Four drivers a side, bass to 20 Hz, built in Baltimore. Graded Good, and the grade is the high-gloss end caps — three decades of black lacquer carries scuffs and a few small chips.
Tannoy Mercury F3 Slim Floorstanding Speakers — Apple Finish
A two-way floorstander built on a deliberately simple recipe: one 6.5 inch bass and midrange driver covering everything below a 1 inch textile dome, crossed at 2.7 kHz by a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley — no midrange handover in the region the ear is most sensitive to, and drivers that sum flat and stay in phase through the crossing. 89 dB into a nominal 8 ohms, happy on anything from 10 to 100 watts, and eight inches wide. The light Apple finish hardly ever comes up. Very Good condition.
